I’m sure there is a thread but I cannot figure out how to use this site (first time here). I’ve tried searching and couldn’t find anything but I’m trying to figure out axle gearing. I have a 1988 bronco 2 2.9l manual front TTB rear stock welded and I’m just looking for a quick answer to what gears I should run. I’m on 35’s and will be doing some highway driving but mainly woods driving. Here’s my ride also! 😊

You can get the axle ID off the door tag and look it up in the tech library section or crawl under there and read the axle tag. An "L" in the ratio- like 3L73- indicates limited slip/ Traction Lok. With those tall tires I'd want the lowest (highest numerical) gears you can find, 4.10's as a minimum.

As far as I know, I am soon to find out once I get another carrier, you can use 5.13s for Escapes in the Dana 28. BUT, if you do any serious off roading, you shouldn't go over 31" with a Dana 28. I blew a hub in 1/2 and sent it flying running P235/75r/15 with an open diff. Lucking it was the only thing that broke, unluckily Warn hubs were the only ones in stock so it cost me $250.
