I have a 1992 ford ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 and an automatic transmission. It has an 8.8 rear end. I have replaced the axle seals on the back right twice and its still leaking . The bering is good and the shaft doesn't have any wear on it. There is no play in the bering and the vent line for the axle is clear...what gives...any ideas.

I hate problems like that.

Are you sure it's not brake fluid or anything like that?

You know those stupid engine leaks sometimes where they're hard to trace? Just a thought, but you never know.

no it's not brake fluid. the sad part is that i just replaced everything in the rear breaks because the axle had Ben leaking for years and the brakes were one big mas of grease. Not to mention that when i checked the wheel cylinders only one piston on the left side was working.:icon_confused:
i m just not sure what to do as of now. ii guess my next move will be to replace the bering and seal then if that doesn't do anything i guess i will be needing an axle shaft
