So tomorrow I am looking at a 1979 FS Bronco with a 9in rear, he told me it is welded up, how would I go about returning it to stock or adding a lock right, what do I need to replace?

There are two ways that people weld or "lincoln lock" the axle, they either weld the drive and driven gears (AKA the spider gears) together, or they weld the drive/driven gears to the carrier, or both. Either way, as Sasquatch stated, the carrier needs replacing, which if you are going to a detroit, your set :icon_thumby:

I would if I could afford one, but alas I am poor and I might be putting my Ranger cab on it, I cant find a new engine, and right now this seems to be my best option

86 slo-vo use to run a welded rear on his DD (when it was his DD) and he said he didn't really notice more tire wear then before he welded it, just noticed it when we was in the parking lot of the mall...

I ran my 44 and 9 both welded i liked it i liked it enough to get full spools for the 60 and 14 bolt im running. kind of a pain in the but in tight parking but i always just parked where it was easy to fit.

How did it go?

Im not gunna get it, he was about 300 too high and he didnt have any starter fluid to get it going, Im on the hunt for an explorer.

naw, too much work, I found an engine I might get, waiting for a reply

I was gunna swap bodies, but right now I really need my truck, I found a 3.0 at a junkyard in Washignton, If I get it I could have it in in one saturday
