Can any Mazda B3000 owner answer this? I need to know the specs of the universal joint in the yoke on the drive shaft where it bolts to the rear axle companion flange. Truck is 1998 Mazda B3000 SE, V-6, 4WD, CabPlus, ManTran, Axle Code F6, WB 126", GVWR 5120lbs, SPR=BC, 7.5 Ring Gear, 3L37 Ratio, 10" Brake Drum, VIN 4F4ZR17(U or V?)1WTM19632. Length of drive shaft is about 61", single piece. I believe it may be a Spicer 5-790X, with a Cap O.D. of 1.062", Cap to Cap of 3.625". Any help would be appreciated. Reason I ask is because I want to swap out the axle and put in an 8.8 Ring Gear, 3L73 Ratio axle from a 1994 Ranger SuperCab.:icon_confused:

Question Answered

The swap out was done yesterday. Everything went smothly. No problems to report. So the answer to my own question is "YES", you can replace the 98 Mazda CabPlus 7.5 axle with a 94 Ranger S/C 8.8 axle.:yahoo:
