axle shaft needle bearing

I'm sorry. We are going to need a LOT more info before we even try to help.

For starters, what axle? There should be no needle bearings on any axle in a 2000, so I am guessing you are talking about someone other than the truck in your profile.

Also, this is not twitter, you aren't limited to 42 characters. You will get much more helpful help if you use full sentences.

2000 ford ranger 4x4 had pvh but changed to manuel cv shafts both sides loose put new wheel bearing assumbleys on both sides sitll loose when i drive it it get a bad vibrations in the front end wont stop till you come o a full stop then you can drive on fine until you hit anouther ruff spot iin to road was told to check in needle bearing in the wheel assumbly and i have the retaining rings in

In general only. Basic needle bearing check is simple. Remove the part(s) and inspect the needle bearings for damage. Ensure all the needle bearings are there. (if the part was removed and reinstalled? There's always a chance someone did a short cut.)

Best method to hold needle bearings in a general ap? Vaseline. (aka, petroleum jelly) We did that a lot when putting the shafts back into manual transmissions. Breaks down when the oil hits it.

Now in regards to your exact problem? And I'm not slamming you! Slow down and go step by step using grammar. That's one of the biggest run-on lines I've read for a while.

bought the trucked used i started to get a bad vabration when i would hit a bump in the road at 55 60 mph would have to come a complete stop to stop it then i got drive on untill i hit another good bump so i replaced the cv shaft samething occurred so i replaced the wheel bearing assmbleys problem still occurred i went to the ford dealership found out i was missing the axle shaft retaining rings installed them problem still occurred talked to a friend he said there should be a set of needle bearing in the wheel bearing assumblys to keep the axle shaft centered look at the old ones and the new ones but i see no needle bearing

it did come with pvh which i have changed to manual but with this problem im having it has blowin the guts to them out

Ok, I found the problem here. Your friend has no clue what he is talking about.

There should be no true needle bearings in your front end setup. There may be a torrington bearing in the manual hub setup, but those shouldn't be giving you vibrations.

Dumb question here, but are you 110% sure that you aren't locked in 4x4 going down the road? That sounds like the most consistent with what you are experiencing.

Could it be that the alignment is off? Maybe the tires are worn and need to be rotated?

put brand new 265\70\R15 goodyear wranglers on it and the manual locking hubs i bought too replace the pulse vacuum hubs the guts have blowin out of them im guessing because of all the play the axle shaft have coming though the wheel bearing assumbly

If it's off so far that the tires are pointing at each other maybe.

so besides the retaining ring what holds the cv shaft centered in the wheel bearing assumbley it will move in a egg shape motion with the retaining rings in and without them there is play up and down and in an out so besides the little plastic retaining ring what esle is there to hold the shaft centered in the wheel bearing assumbley. the play in the shaft is what broke my manuallocking hubs i installed them thinking they were what held the shaft centered and tight but only lasted me two ddays before the guts were blowin out of them this is when i found out a need the retaining rings but they only stop the shafts from moving in and out they still have will moving in an egg shape motion

There is indeed a needle roller bearing in the back of the hub

does this bearing need to be pulled out of the old wheel bearing assumbley and installed back in the new ones reason i ask is because i bought the truck used and i have replaced wheel bearing assumbley i did not do this and i see no needle bearing in the old ones?maybe the people that owned the truck tool them out and never replaced them?

Shop manual shows removing it from the old hub and installing it into the new hub and installing a new thrust washer behind it.
