Hey guys,
Getting ready to put the 92 2wd back together before the weather really breaks. I'm doing bascially the whole front end - bearings, rotors, pads, tie rods, radius bushings, and pivot bushings.
I've had bad experience with the poly radius arm bushings - hard ride, squeaky, didn't torque well. I'm thinking of going poly for the axle pivot bushings, though, since my 4.0 is leaking like sieve from the oil pan. I'm sure that the poly bushings will hold up better under oily, dirty conditions.
I've seen two types of polyurethane pivot bushings offered, the most common seems to be the two-piece unit that installs into the stock sleeve. I just found this one, though, at Andy's Autosport
It looks like it would work, but I'm wondering what the second plastic piece is that goes with them. Anyone ever use these kinda that come with a new sleeve, bushing already installed? I'd rather go with this style anyway, since I won't have to burn/cut out the old bushing from its sleeve.
Here's the full ink to the site where I got that pic:
