So i need your guys vote on what I should do. Right now my truck is a 2.9 auto 4x4 with 7.5 ls rear end and dana 28 with 4.10's and 235/75r15 tires. I'm considering putting in a 8.8 ls and a dana 35 with 3.73's or so. Maybe a lil better street truck. I wanna run the same size tires I just want a well rounded clean daily driver, that I can take offroad if I want.

I'd stick with the deeper gears. It doesn't sound like you'll need the additional strength of the other axles.

If ur not doing anything hardcore u should be fine with 4.10s and the smaller axles I got a 35 and a 7.5 and 33s with 3.73 and Iam not easy on them at all I need lower gears but other than that I live my setup

yeah, keep the stock stuff. i beat the shit out of my 7.5/d28 in high school with p235's, did all sorts of shit i had no business doing and i never had one thing break. if you're just doing moderate stuff, i doubt it would be worth the time/energy

I was just looking into 3.73's for a lil better gas mileage. Lol I'm trying to get some pretty good gas milage outa it and almost 3000 at about 67 mph aint cutting it. It was just gunna be easier to change axles and all that was the reason for axles plus if i'm swapping may as well go bigger and better.

The bigger axles also add about 100 lbs of weight with both of them as they are bigger... which won't help gas mileage.

If you want better gas mileage i would slow down. Just sayin hah

I don't think you'll get better mileage with 3.73s.

I drive 60 on the highway when the speed limit is 70.
