So I went to change my seal in my front diff (Dana 35) and seen it was very creamy colour and realized it was water in the oil. I noticed the breather tube and remember I had it sunk inbetween the time I've last had it off. (Only a few months ago to reseal it as it leaked) Needless to say I'm going to extend my breather tubes so I don't run into this problem again. I didn't see to much info on what kind of tube (size, hardness etc) also where to run it to just up into the engine compartment? What about the back would I want to run it up so its under the hood and doesn't get box/rain water in it? Thanks.

I used 3/8" fuel line to extend mine...its just what I had kicking around.

My front diff breather runs into my air box under the hood, the rear diff I run up into the tail light housing and make a couple loops in it so water can't get in.

I think I used 5/16" fuel hose for mine.

As long as it fits over the barb, it should work since it's not something critical like an EFI fuel line would be. Pull the stock candy-cane-looking thing off and see if you can match it up with some hose at the autoparts store. :icon_thumby:

I ran my front breather up near the top of the firewall near the brake booster. My rear is in behind the taillight also.

I used fuel line and some clamps as well... Also found some neat little breather ends that Jeep uses on the Grand Cherokee (so critters and whatnot don't get in there) I got em from the You-Pull-It for $0.05 ea.
