hello there.
I was reading about how the rear in a 1994 explorer is stronger than the one in a ranger of the same year.
the rear in my ranger has a lot of slack and whines while on the road.
I have the rear from a 94 explorer and was wondering if I could just swap the shafts and differential without having to change carriers.
thank you for any help

Just swap the whole axle and save the hassle of setting up gears. If you dont have the know-how to setup gears it gets pricey to pay someone to do it for you. Welding new perches and shock tabs is pretty idiot proof.IMO.

EDIT: If you have the 7.5 axle under your truck now, you have no choice but to swap the whole deal anyway.

I have an 8.8 28 spline in the truck now I do not have the tools to do all the mods

You don't have a choice but to swap the whole deal either way. Explorer shafts will not fit into a Ranger housing.
