where can i find the automatic hub locknut removal socket???
Advanced auto only has the one for manual hubs....where could i find one in town without ordering one offline???

There is a key in the slot on the spindle. It usually comes out with a strong magnet like a retrieval tool or something. Then the nut should come off with out too much trouble. A large wrench or pair of slip joint pliers should be all you need to get them off.

What if he needs to put it back on? What kind of torque sequence does he need to use? I only know the manual torque sequence. Or is it very similar?

well imo you shouldent bother putting the auto's back on:no2: but it you want to and its anything like mine its just a really big socket with a little metal key holding it in i used the tool from a tire repair kit with a magnet i attached to the side(magnetism spreads if you stick a magnet to a screwdriver it now has a magnetized tip to hold screws on :food for thought: ):icon_twisted::icon_cheers:

You don't need a tool. There isn't any adjustment possible with that garbage setup.

It's going to be loose when you take it apart. The little key comes right out with a magnet.

The real problem with those is that there aren't any choices when you are setting the bearings. The bearings are going to be too loose. These can be reliable, but they suck even when they work right.

ok deal is that even the cheapest warn or mile marker or whatever manual hubs are gonna be stronger than autos and with a manual hub that nut that your worried about goes away if you use your 4x4 switch to manual hubs their just more reliable and easy to rebuild or replace

Napa carries the socket. It's a 2 3/8 inch socket. Be prepared to pay about $40 for it.
