auto trans questions

Hi everyone I have had a hand full of rangers in my life I had a 97 3.0 auto 2wd had to sell then got a 99 with a 5speed that I traded for a 02 extendedcab 3.0 auto 2wd love the motors but I seem to always end up with trans issues autos start shifting hard and jerking the stick lost 3rd I traded off the 02 to get my wife an suv about three years ago now I want another one and I'm looking at a 4x4 with the 4.0 and am wondering if the trans is different or if anyone eles is having problems or is it just me any info would be great thanks

Nah, seems like you just have bad luck. Did you keep your autos serviced or did you just run them?

Get a stick, and you won't have these problems. Or keep your fluid changed every 50k.

yeah kept em all serviced fluid and filter band adjust all as shown by owner manual specs hopefully it was just bad luck test drove an 03 today drives great think I'm gonna go for it but gonna take a look at an fx4 tommorrow then decide between the two
