How hard is it to swap a manual into a 1993-94 3.0 Ranger? Are the ECU's different?

yes there is a ecm differenc. It will run with the auto ecm. the differenc is the timing, and the cps and the lock up coverter will turn you cel on. For the swap its not hard at all if you can pull the tranny thats the hardes part. the pedle just pull the e-clip and the pedles swap out this part only took me 1h.
i did this on a 4.0 and i uesd
tranny
clutch
flywheel
clutch to flywheel bolts
4 bellhousing need replace with longer ones
pedles
clutch MC, SC
tube from the mc to sc
ecm
new starter
new engine to tranny spacer
hope this helps
look around on the site for more help

I don't think timing is an issue on a 93-94 3.0, as it uses a dizzy.

What really matters, is like mentioned before, torque convertor lockup, and the fuel injector idle down strategy are different between MT ans AT.

If you run a AT PCM with a MT you'll probably get a CEL, and lose about 1-2mpg.

Sounds like he listed off what's needed.
