auto to manual wont turn over halpp!

that isn't all that bad:icon_twisted:

I know, but I went out of my way to leave it all together and I installed it with the master attached to the transmission just so I wouldnt have to bleed it. but then I spilled all the fluid out of the resivoir, and now it wont go in gear. crap.

the upside is the free 10 disc cd changer that came with the 2 free trucks works.

two places to look: over by the harness bulkhead going to the engine should be a plug that has green and red wires on it. the green wires should go to the clutch pedal switch and be shorted in start. that should be a black plug that should have been left alone. there is also 2 wires in the trans pigtail, i believe black/white on one end and the one next to it (pink, purple or tan) that needs shorting OOPS thats reverse lights

red/black and white/red are park neutral and they are opposite the locating pin.

There is a 5 pin plug that plugged into the auto trans. One pin was for converter lockup, two for reverse lights, and two for neutral sensing. If the two for neutral sensing are not wired into the Mazda trans neutral switch (on the passenger side of trans) the engine won't start.

I'm so sorry to bring an old thread like this back, but i fell into the exact same situation. I didn't quite get a clear answer here. I found these 2 wires in one of the plugs(had like 11 wires and an empty hole), but can someone clear this up. Can i short them or do i absolutely need to run them to the new tranny?

another thought just hit me. I took a look under and i can't anything that looks like it could be a plug on the passenger side. I did see something that looks like http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/we...t-BWD_5970229-P_401_R|GRPSESWAMS_562169312___ on the drivers side. But that from the description is a "back up light" whatever that means. Also the two wires i mentioned about. I shorted and nothing happened.

get yourself a wiring diagram, even haynes or chilton will do and look for the section that deals with transmission wiring. there will be things called start neutral switch and clutch safety switches. find the color of the wire that comes out of those locations and then see if you can find them on your 11 pin connector. One wire will generally be red possibly with a stripe of some sort.

I'm pretty good on 84-87 ranger wiring, but yours is quite a different beast.

worst case, just jump the solenoid.
