Auto T-case to manual T-case

I have a few questions that I'm hoping that y'all can help me with. I have an 89 B2. 2.9L, manual tranny and auto t-case. My buddy just picked up an 87 B2. His has a 2.9L, auto tranny, manual t-case. Would swapping the t-cases be possible? I want the manual as I use mine mostly for hunting and being able to put the t-case in auto would allow me to flat tow my truck back and forth to the lease. What all would we need to make the swap?

Mostly worried about wiring and stuff for his truck. What does he already have? What would he need?
