Aloha Everyone ,
Bein reading tech articles but can't find my answer. I have a 2003 b4000 extra cab with a 3 inch body lift . A year ago the 4x stopped working then changed cab fuse and back in business . Last weekend went through mud puddles then drove up to sand and turned the 4x switch on . No 4hi or 4 low lights and no click . Drove up to sand and rear spun and front just floated , no power . No sand driving. 4 hours later jumped in my truck and 4x worked .why ?? Vacuum , electrical ???please any advice would be great. Luv this truck. Mahalo , paka

Bein reading here , guess I'll clean electrical in engage motor and wires . Also tap it next time if it fails .

Well the front end is always engaged to the drive shaft. It's called a live axle. If the lights aren't lighting up then the transfer case isn't going in.

Thanks adsm , that's what I'm trying to figure out . Why wouldn't the transfer case be going on .

Bad switch, bad motor, bad relay, bad module, bad wire, who knows.
