So I know what the manual says, torque to 30lb/ft, spin the rotor both ways to distribute the grease, loosen then torque to 16lb/in. I have yet to do this and have the key line up, so I have to tighten to the next notch, which usually ends up being a LOT more than the prescribed 16lb/in. My manual is pretty vague, am I supposed to go to the next tighter or looser notch with the spindle nut? I'm moving to Alaska in a week and would like to know for sure on my 2500 mile drive!

Thanks!

Run it forward, pin it, drive it. If the bearings don't make noise, you are good to go. As long as rotating the wheel isn't too hard you should be ok.
