Atx's 94" xcab build

Dude u made some great progress on that. Exhaust looks cool with those sliced pipes. I would think that ish should be loud with just the cats like u have it. The 40s sound great on the mustangs so I'm sure they would sound sweet on yours too. That install looks like it was meant to be. Good luck with the start up, hope she purrs nice for ya.

Well the last few days have been kinda crazy . The truck is ready to start . All fluids in , battery in , just missing the damn driveshaft . Have a plug in the trans tailshaft to start anyway . I went yesterday to the jy and looked under every ford truck I saw . The forklifts fubar a lot of them picking the damn vehicle up . So 90% of the aluminum driveshafts are bent or dinged up . So far ford full size vans are looking pretty good in length .the only thing is , the aluminum driveshafts are pretty damn fat . Would be cutting it close because of the damn gas tank ,and carrier bearing support . I know on lowered 94 extended cab rangers that want to do a one piece conversion I may have to mod the back floor pan area (notch) . Which I'm not scared to do just even more down time. So I got to thinking . Maybe a f150 2 piece and shorten it and still rock a carrier so I don't have to mod the cab since I'm lowered . Still way beefier then the stock ranger 2 piece driveshaft that can be modded to work .and steel which makes it less fat then the aluminum shafts . Opinions welcomed .

Still would like to move my thread to the v8 section if the mod would be so nice . I'm asking swap questions that may be seen more in the v8 section .

Which leaves me to my last frustration of this build. The damn wiring . All power and grounds are run to the ecu and test out perfect with my powerprobe 3 . But now stumped on the rest . I for the life of me can't find a diagram of the 94 4.0 stock chassis side of the engine harness plug pin out . I find plug info and pic on alldata but no Definitions of the circuits . So when I go off of what numbers the circuits are it leads no no info . I know someone on here can tell me where I need to make my connections after the 96 5.0 42 pin connector to my 94 ranger 4.0 chassis . On my other forums for my rx7 and tbss there's diagrams glory. On them . But here everything is so Secret . All you hear is buy the Book . Then what's the point of the forum . Sorry just ranting . I'm going to the jy and beats some wrecked car up to take my frustrations out . Try it some time it works , you'll be laughing by the time your done lol. Just do it to a beater that's been rolled not a good parts cars . Gotta be considerate of others [emoji106]?[emoji482]

Don't know why the yard pic did show but . I ended up with a shaft I think will work for what I need . I stuck with a one piece from a single cab long bed f150 I believe .
Will see tomorrow what it looks like .

I'm still following along here mang. Nice job and hope that drive shaft works for ya. Wasn't as nice this weekend up here in the north east :/ keep at it!

Hope so also the stock ranger one is just a lil short so I hope the one above it fits and has the right yoke

Well made a lot of headway as far as electrical goes . I'm really digging deep and now tracing circuits from both chassis , which for the most part are the same # circuits . Just the Rangers harness has so many damn plugs to look at , were as the expo is a clean simple wiring harness running through one connector . I'm hoping to finish tracing out tonight here at home with my diagrams and finish the wires that I have left to solder or not . I'm luck to have some older Ford Escape harnesses up at the shop to hack , so all my wires I need to extend are still the same color .

I have even more diagrams now printed up .

As for the driveshaft we have a winner . I need to short it ,which is happening now and should be back from the builder tomorrow afternoon . Was quoted $90 which ain't bad for a rebuilt shorten aluminum shaft .

Hoping to really be on the road by this weekend [emoji48]

Real nice work mang, moving along nicely. Not sure I'm going to need a new driveshaft yet but 1pc aluminum is always nice and 90 bucks, can't go wrong. If I need to I'll use the 150 as a reference for what I'll need. Good luck n keep chopping at it.

Well just finished looking up all the circuits and made a chart for all the connections . My eye balls hurt from looking at diagrams all day but this is my end result. I'll make a nice chart for everyone that's doing a 94 ranger

Well I had to swap a couple wires around from what I had figured out last night but for 90% of it , it was right . So I'll make a nice chart for 94 swaps which should work for 93 & 95 also possibly . Hopefully it will help someone else and not have to dig so hardcore . Obd2 is wired up and working . Need to figure out the tach wiring still . Last but not least . The god damn thing runs and runs good lol I got it started a few hours ago and so far it idles and revs up great . The driveshaft will be here tomorrow morning and hopefully I'll be going for a ride by lunch . I got a video of it running and revving up a lil . Oil pressure is at 60 psi on a mechanical snap on gauge set ( getting oil ,coolant temp gauges )
Need to figure out how to post video from my phone

Thanks brotha , believe my coworker and me had a [emoji482]. Well I got the oil pressure sensor to work today . All I can say is if you have a 4.0 use the oil pressure extension that the 4.0 sensor uses it brings is out like 2 inches and 45 degree turn . Way easier to get to now to replace if I need to . Also got the driveshaft in . I had to mod my floor at the back of the cab to clear the shaft . And remove the brace plate the 2 piece carrier use to bolt to . All this cause I'm lowered . In the end I'm going to have to rework the rear floor pan and tunnel it . All in all it was a good day . Should be going for a ride In The morning .
