Attention all US Military members, active or not.

You and everyone else in this great country are welcome. It was a pleasure serving in the greatest military in the world and for the greatest contry in the world. We have problems yes but go elsewhere for a while and then come back and tell me you didn't miss this place we call home and I will call you a liar.

AMEN greasemonkey! I was stationed in the Phillipines in the late 80's for 3 years and from there I spent time in Korea, Singapore n Thailand. I spent all 3 freakin years there without coming home by choice...because I felt that if I did I would probably go AWOL! They were some beautiful countries BUT they weren't AMERICA!

Yes this union of 50 states do have its problems but it is the home that I took an oath to defend! Please don't talk shit about this country. If you think its that bad pick another place to go. Then you can dream about all the things that you took for granted here.

Currently serving in the USN. Just got back from my deployment back on the 5th. I just want to thank everyone back here at home. The US is definitely the best place to live after seeing some of the other countries I had been through. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

oh yes, coming from a military family. i tip my hat, will shake your hand, and would buy drinks for vets-if i was 21 lol-.... the vets are the reason we have what we do. now the politicans are a different story that i'm not gonna get into, or start b/c this thread is about trying to thank the vets a lil.. we can never thank them enough.

We are vets, we dont need anymore drinks trust me, lol. BUt we appreciate all the grattitude. Especially from the younger generations.

I'm glad to see a few of you have read this. I was hoping all would read it, maybe they did and just didn't comment.

Just to reiterate a bit, I really am honored to live in this country. Thanks to all of you, I can. How about a non-alcoholic beverage? :icon_pepsi:

enlisted

after 10 years in the USN i have been around the world and back. seen some breathtakingly beautiful places and been in the worst shit holes of the univers. but when i step back onto this soil and into my home its a feeling undescribable. i have hands with dignitaries and been spit on by own fellow citizens. what people dont always realize is there are extrems of both sides even in our own back yard. but i still serve proudly. and thank you all for the recognition.

@OP, the real heros can't thank you for your kind words. Everyone else were just doing their job just like you all. Just be as honorable as those who sacrifced all for your way of life and we can call it even.
