So I'm about to have the 4.0 swap wrapped up and the next chore is suspension..
I'm wondering what folks are doing about articulation in the rear..Just chevy leaves and Extended shackles?

Can I even do that with the Bronco? I'm assuming I'd have to cutionto the floor for clearance, Anyone run the setup with a body lift for clearance?

Hell, any other ideas?

i got the extended shackles (belltech) and 6 inch skyjacker leafs. flexes like arnold.

oops make that the 4" skyjacker springs. no blocks

I'm happy with the flex from mine as well. Extended shackles is the key on a Ranger, although the BII puts more angle on the shackle stock so they don't max out as quickly.

From what I've seen you would have to rework the middle body mount brackets on a BII in order to make clearance for the leaf hanger that has to go 6" forward for Chevy leafs. It can be done though. The Chevy leafs should get a fair bit more flex than the Skyjacker leafs.

Yeah kinda shot my mouth off there without thinking what I was looking at..
I realize I have a body mount there..I was also thinking of relocating it inboard or something..Anyhow so basically just an extended shackle in back and a rearched leaf?

Junkie what is your spring pack currently?

On my BII or Ranger?

What shackles/spring combo do you have?

I bought teraflex shackles off of UrbanRedneckKid. He used them with stock springs on a Ranger and got impressive flex, IMO.

You mean the boomerang shackles?
could I use them? Didn't really put any thought into them..

You could always go with a shackle flip, seen it done on a few forums, and on at least one build on here. It will free up a lot of down travel, but youll need a pretty arched leaf to compensate

Bii........

My BII has 'bastard' packs with leaves cannibalized from several sources.

IIRC, the main leaf is stock '00 Explorer, the 2nd leaf is a stock main from my Ranger (eyelets cut off), 3rd leaf is '00 Ex, 4th leaf is a Rancho long AAL, then an inverted Ranger overload leaf.
I also have extended shackles on it.

Ok, now for my Ranger lol :D
Skyjacker FR34 4" lift leafs with stock Ranger overloads substituted for the more curved Skyjacker OLs.
Extended stock shackles (pic). That's the same way I did the shackles on my BII as well

I was thinking about combining a few sets myself..I have the stockers, a set from my 90' Donor Ranger and a 99-00' 4dr exp. frame..I guess I'll go with those for the leaves..
Curious about those terraflex shackles though!
