Armrest repair!!

Metal Center console replacement

I've been looking all over for the metal replacement console. Can someone be a little more specific as to how to order the part? I Drive a 4.0L 2006 Fx4 Ranger and I can't find the part on rockauto.

go to rockauto.com, click on part number search and type in "arm100"

its not listed for ranger's at all, only 99-02 explorers, thats probably why you couldnt find it. no idea if it fits or not, i dont have a truck with that style arm rest.

I know it works for a 2002 Fx4, I don't believe they changed the interior arm rest from there on. As long as your armrest looks like the one in the picture and bolts on the same, it should work fine.:icon_thumby:

Thank You!

I guess I was just doing something wrong! Thanks for the help guys! I just bought a new Grill Guard and Some HID's so just fixing her up!

works for me!

hey, first post. Actually found this site looking for the fix for that cracked plastic pia piece. Took me about 30 minutes to change it out; went for 3/8 X 1-1/2 inch hex bolts with lock nuts. Awesome, I have my armrest back! You guys rock.
Z.

works as advertised - almost

HI
I just received this kit and it ALMOST works as advertised.

My only hitch was the bolts included in the kit on which the arm rest pivots are just a little too short. Although the bolts catch the threads of the nut they don't engage the nylock (nylon stuff that locks the nut on the bolt) and, after re-assembly (I did it several times) it only takes about 3 or 4 cycles for them to loosen up and start to fall off.

I went to lowes and bought longer bolts and it seems to have resolved the problem.

Somewhere along the way, whoever assembles the kits, substituted shorter bolts.

Oh well - nothing is quite all it's cracked up to be these days eh?

I thought I posted in this thread...but must have been another one...

Anyway...I couldn't find replacements for my driver side arm rest on my 88 Ranger...but, as it turned out, the arm rests from my Sidekick fit the first and second bolts exactly...and since I have to change the door panel that I will do as soon as I find suitable material, I won't worry too much about the hole where the third bolt goes...

I have pics somewhere if anyone is interested...but I also know you can buy the arm rests from LMC and others...I just don't want to spend $100 on an armrest just to make my truck authentic...especially when nothing else actually is...

Oh, and if you see any Ford Tempos...the window winder is a great replacement for the ugly chrome original equipment...
