The passenger armrest on my '86 Ranger broke--the front part of it pulled off the screw, leaving a gaping hole. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I'm not near a junkyard and don't want to shell out the money for a new one. Thanks--

are you talking about this?

except just remove the silver plate?

cuz that's what i have right now, and i guess i don't ever see it so i don't care.

i'm planning on ripping the fabric off, moving to black fabric, and converting my 60/40 to buckets when it starts to warm up (wow that seems like so far away...)

No--the armrest is foam covered with vinyl, so eventually the foam weakens around the handle, and pulls through the screw and washer. Thanks anyway, though--

yeah i guess your 86 and my 88 are completely different because your post makes no sense to me. but good luck i guess

Sorry my post didn't make much sense--the design on your '88 seems better than the armrest on my '86. I've had my truck since 1992 and have gone through at least three armrests.

ouch... gl with a fix, or you can always just not keep it if you don't use it.
