Move over bub !!! It's getting crowded in here.
Mine's carbed but runs like it's got EFI. It's all in the cam and ignition (and a smallish sized carb)
The seventies called, they want their T-shirt back, lol! Uh, okay.... We're dealing with old Mustang setups that cost $200 for every EFI piece, so that's much cheaper than a new Holley...
I think costs work out equal in most cases, simply a preference.
Now I know where to get extra cash when I need it.......................![]()
the next time i drop her off at evangeline downs....i'll run the box by your villa
i was the only one carb'd when i made that comment lol.
on both my engines, well the ranger dont count right now.
but on my other v8's i run an edelbrock 1406 600cfm carb.
i love it. it starts like fuel injection in the morning. gives respectable performance. and gives decent mileage. and there ready to run out of the box. but i tune mine just to makes sure.
love the smell of a carb'd engine first starting in the morning. ahhh
Mine runs like EFI, but without a choke. Tuning? that takes all of 5 minutes with a Holley. Most of that time is spent checking and setting the ignition timing.
Injected 331 in the Ranger. G.M. T.B.I. to be exact. Best of both worlds. EFI performance, and beat on it with a rock carb. simplicity. Plus, IF the TBI dumps, simply pull off the plate, toss on the carb, turn down the fuel pressure and hit it again. Trail and (ugh) street ride, once it gets done.
