Found this guy selling a V6 Engine and he said its a 3.8???? I wasnt to sure if there was such a thing as a 3.8 or if its just a typo,,,, next question if it is a 3.8 will it bolt up to my 3.0 V6 tranny and engine mounts??? Without mods???

3.8 came out of mustangs and t-birds..

we run that motor in our 7 open truck its a good motor its uses the sbf belhousing patern on the back so there are a lot of easy transmissions available for it..

no it wont bolt up to the 3.0 trans

instead u get to get rid of the pos ranger trans and just put in a c6

The 3.8L V6 also came in FWD versions, which have the same bellhousing pattern as the 3.0L vulcan. But, the 3.8L is still 145hp... unless you swapped the parts off of a split-port 3.8L and/or rotating assembly from the F-150's 4.2L into the block.

You could always do the SuperCoupe Swap... M90 SuperCharger on top of the Motor..

Thanx,
Rob

yes the taurus and windstar version is the same as the 3.0 bolt pattern.. but that is a little more rare..

www.supersixmotorsports.com

our 3.8 was 250hp from him and our 4.2 is 350hp from him..

the 3.8 and 4.2 blocks are almost identicle, the 4.2 crank fits in the 3.8 block and will give u a nice strong motor without having to deal with the split port bs..
