Well, a few thoughts:
To be honest, I would not bother with the swap unless I could find a 95 ranger in the junkyard with a blue interior that is in good condition... too much little stuff to worry about to make it look decent. but if you want to do this, read on:
Seats should swap over.
the pillar and other inside trim will not likely swap over. you will probably have to go to a junkyard and find a Ranger with a blue interior and harvest the carpet, headliner and wall moldings.
If you can do this or can live with a mismatched interior, read on.
the outside of the doors between and Explorer and Ranger are different.
This does not necessarily mean that the inside door panels will not fit.
First thing I would do is remove one door panel from the explorer and take it to the ranger and put it on top of the Ranger's door panel. Do the edges line up? If not, take the door panel and throw it back in the explorer and call it a day. If they do, go to the next step.
Remove the panel from the Ranger. (make sure it is from the same door) compare the back side. do all of the christmas tree fasteners line up? IF so, you are golden. if not, you will either have to devise a way to fasten it to the door somehow or pitch the explorer panel and say the hell with it. If they do line up, go to the next step.
does either truck have manual windows? both have manual windows? both have power?
If they both do have manual windows, you will have to make sure the window crank is in the same position. measure the distance from the front edge and the top or bottom of the panel, they should be the same for both the Ranger and the explorer. if they are off by a few centimeters or less, you might be able to enlarge the hole with a hole saw drill bit and then take a larger hole saw and cut a washer from the rear door panels in the explorer to hide the larger hole in the front door panels. if the placement of the crank is totally off, you might be able to glue a piece of the rear door panel in the original hole and drill a new one.
If the explorer has crank windows and the ranger has electric. you will have to adapt your switches to fit the door panel. the easiest way to do this would be to get a switch assembly out of a junkyard, it might fit right in place of the dummy panel for the explorer. Then you will need to plug the hole for the crank. see above suggestion of using a hole saw on the rear panels.
If the ranger has crank windows and the explorer has electric, measure and drill a hole.
If they both have electric, all you should have to do is hook the explorer control panel into the ranger harness. the driver side will have two rear window switches which would not be used. maybe hit the junkyard and find an explorer sport and grab the switch panel from it.
There is a write up somewhere on this site on how to hook up and explorer overhead console in a ranger. Search for that and grab your overhead console!
I don't know if you are going to swap the dash over or not, but I will leave that can of worms for someone else to chime in on.
Hope this helps!
