not meant to hijack, but, will a 7.5" handle 4.10 gears with 31" tires without breaking?

I've driven a 4.0 5 speed ranger with 30s (slightly bigger than 235s) and 3.73s and thought it was a great combination. So given all that, what's your opinion of 235/75/15 and 3.73s behind a 4.0 OHV? I want to have my final gearing set before the axles go in the truck. Figure since we seem to have similar trucks and to be driving in the same areas you might have a good suggestion.
mine is 3.73 with stock 235-15's does fine although i wish i had a bit lower gearing when towing, the wind resistance created by the front of the trailer really acts like im pulling a parachute behind me. and my fuel milage drops from 19 (truck only) to 10 (truck/trailer) and thats going 55 in 4rth gear. try to go 65 it only drinks more fuel, just for kicks i thought id try a top speed run, the truck itself will do 90 but its scary, the ranger chassis isnt meant to go that fast, the handling and braking are scary, with the trailer it will top out at about 74 and after a short time of the speed being maxed out the temp guage starts to go up. too bad theres no a auxillary overdrive or underdrive unit you could put after the trans (or between the trans and trasnfer case) you could have 3.55 effective ratio when running empty, and 4.10 while loaded/towing. there was a company that made such a item at one time, ive forgotten the name of it, probly out of bussiness.
for those curious about axle strength any axle will hold any wheel tire combination as long as your not beating on it horribly or going to extreme's such as 56's on 7.5 with 2.73 gears. RSH your 7.5 will be fine with up to 35's and the higher the gear the easier to roll, just watch the torquing. its a stout little axle, just could be bette.r

The son of my parents pastor JUST got off the phone with me...
the FACTORY installed 4.10 7.5" Limited slip rear in his AUTO TRANS
1998 4x4 AUTO TRANS ranger just died a spectacular death.
Offhand I'd say "No".
Or atleast "not for long"
