My son's new Ranger has a really nice ARE truck cap painted red to match. It is in great shape with drivers side window that flips open and a sliding window on the passengers side. Best I can find is it was around $2,000 new. My teenage son does not want to leave it on very long and I don't want it sitting. What do you think it's worth so I can get it listed forsale? Thanks in advance!

Personally I've paid $400 for a cap, and that is the most I would EVER pay. It was for my work truck. I would try at slightly less than 1/2 of new price and keep dropping by a couple hundred a week till sold. You might get lucky....but I doubt it.

I was thinking asking $700 hope to get $500. Would get him a new set of tires.

Put in the ad that you're willing to trade for tires . You could get better than what you could buy for the cash.

As others have said. I think you will be lucky if you get $500 for it. I have had a fiberglass cap and tonneau cover for my truck over the years and still wish I kept the cap.

It looks like you have alot of room in your garage over your head. I would get a few pulleys and some rope and store it there.

Having a topper for your truck is really useful....

For keeping leaves, snow & rain out of the bed
for keeping your stuff THERE.
Keeping your groceries out of the rain, snow salt spray...

Granted my topper spend most of it time on the rack in my yard
(right now there is 1/2ton of coal in my bed)

But I've also used it as an aluminum "tent" to keep rain
snow and bugs off ME as I slept....

I gotten several toppers from dealers as some believe trucks don't "sell" with toppers on them

I don't like putting greasy tools in my cab, but don't even like stopping at the 7-11 with loose tools in the bed... because SOME people recognize that tools are valuable... and will steal them...

When i bought my truck, it came with one of those, it was green so that made it harder to sell, ended up only getting 50 out of it. and it was like new. I hated the cap, looked ugly. I put chrome toolbox and chrome bed bars in the back and it looks awesome!

I figure it's a long shot getting much out of it but doesn't hurt to try. Lots of red Rangers in my neck of woods so we will see what happens.

Watch the DOT date codes if you do to make sure you don't get time bombs.
