Are 4x2 and 4x4 Grilles the same for 94 Ranger?

Ordering parts to fix the deer hit, Can get a 4x4 style grill for cheaper than a 4x2 style so confirming if it will fit or not in my 2wd.

Need the lights too, so getting one of the two sets on this page:
http://www.am-autoparts.com/1994/Ford/Ranger/Grilles.html

Also getting the header from the same site, so far the cheapest I've found for everything inc shipping. $137 if the 4x4 grille fits.

edit 12/1: ended up ordering from RockAuto, was a bit cheaper. Bonus the headlight lens came with bulbs installed even tho they said no bulbs included, so now I have a backup set if my Nokya Artic Yellows fail.

It fits, but it says 4x4 on the drivers side top corner.

As far as I can tell, visually, with my 94 2x and 4x rangers parked next to eachother, they are the same damn thing.

You might be able to get a rear-end wrecked truck for parts, for a few hundred more than your new parts, pick it clean and scrap it for your money back.

This is true on some of the 4X4 models in 93 and 94 that I have seen. They are indeed interchangeable. I personally think that the 4X4 debossed in the grille looks tacky.

Especially on a 2wd...

Thanks for the info. Not really worried about what's printed on the grille, just so long as it fits.
The crossbar style of the 4x4 grille matches what I'm planning with the bumper better than the six pack look of the 2x4 version.

edit:
checked the description:
Does not have the "4x4" indentation that some original Ranger models may show

Can't be worse than fake GT350 stripes and real 4.0 badges on a Mustang.

I got passed by a "Boss 4.0" Mustang once. :icon_rofl:

My buddy had an 86 with a 2.3 that he put 5.0 badges on. Way lame.

The 4x4 Grille fit just fine, no logos, just need to find an emblem for the front now.

btw, all my Ranger pics are on my FB page at http://www.facebook.com/Razmear and are world viewable.

I think you need an alignment.

There is a massive toe in from the lift that the previous owner did, setting the camber is on my to do list. Only had the truck about a month now and there is much to do.

Here is the Before pic showing the deer damage:

The one you just put on looks very different from my 2 94's. Don't have pics handy to put up there though.
