hey guys,

not sure if this is the right area or not.

but

i made a custom box for my ARB 60l fridge.
i wanted something that could bolted to my tray so that the fridge couldnt get stolen and that it was protected from the elements.

i started with a MW toolbox (made here in south australia). they are waterproof and they allow us to legally carry guns in them.

i have used polystyrene to insulate the box to remove as much heat as possible.

two vents were cut into one of the sides to allow air to circulate.

a computer fan has being mounted inside the box in front of one of the vents and it is hard wired to a solar panel that is mounted on top of the lid. this helps to circulate the air.

to help prevent dust coming in i have just used air conditioner filters.

i have had the car through bulldust and through a storm and mudholes and it stops about 80% of the dust and im yet to have water in.

water will get in through the vents but its better then nothing.

the fridge itself has the canvas protection bad that helps with insulation.

ive left the car out on a 40 degree Celsius day and the box is was sitting at about 30 degrees.

I like it.
You could salvage a peltier cooler from a computer or two and get rid of the venting. I bought a cooler for my lunch that uses that principle and it keeps the cooler about 20 degrees Celsius cooler than the outside air. It helps if the food is already cooled.
