Aquariums... Whos got one?

I have Ripley's Aquarium about 5 minutes from my work, You can find their tank contents online. I have no idea how many gallons they have LOL>

^Been there about a half a dozen times. Its one of the better aquariums around. Atlanta and Newport are good too.

I know you said you are tired of keeping cichlids, but I gotta say, they are the best fish I've had so far.

Start with a 55 gallon tank, a male and female mbuna in a very well decorated tank. Wait 2 to 4 months. You will have your "poop load" of fish.

I'm partial to melanochromis johanni and melanochromis aructus myself.

Epic response.

After seeing all these pictures, think I really need to get mine set up again, been too long. Picture is of the 75 gal filled with all kinds of small schooling fish, dog liked watching them. Still have the 90 gal that I had three Tiger Oscars in and a Sunfish. Every Spring that Sunfish would want to spawn and make her nest on one end of the tank and not one of them Oscars could get near. Think I'm going back to a bunch of the smaller ones, sure a lot cheaper than salt water.

Well.........

When we lived in base housing (79-87) we had a 45 gal. tall with 2 columbian sharks (12" & 13"), shovel nose cat (10"), & big pleko (10")..Wife worked in a pet store then, one night she decided to surprise me by bringin home 4 silver dollar fish (approx. 2" in dia.), I was in bed when she got home.
So next mornin I get up & see them, I said I liked the 3 silver fish....she says 3:icon_confused:? I bought 4......looked, only 3, looked on floor....nothin, then couple hours later, we only had 2......thats weird.........next mornin, we get up to NONE:dunno:. So outta curiousity, I bought some cheap gold fish (approx. 2" long each) & watched.......our columbians ate 6 gold fish :icon_surprised: in less than 3 mins. NOW we knew where our silver dollars went.
So after that, when we through a party, I'd buy a dozen gold fish, & when things got goin:icon_cheers:, I'd letem out & their life expectancy was less than 10 mins.

We just bought a 29 gal. aquarium & put 4 small columbian sharks (4" long each) & a small pleko bought same size and we just enjoy watchinem swim into the air bar & flow of the filter............figure we'll see how big these ones get.

I'll get a pic or 2 in a couple days..................
