I thought it has been a bit cold and a little early too. But I stumbled onto these. We got a good soaker yesterday.

Gonna have to try a few places hard for the next couple days... before they're picked out. Probably look for some wild asparagus in my journey too.

🤢 yuck.

I know they're super healthy and all but... bah. Just can't do it.

Those are edible?

Yes sir...

One of the most expensive srooms on the entire damn planet.

I hope to fill a couple onion sacks full.

I can deal with asparagus... as long as it's half burnt, soaked in butter, and salty enough to kill a 70 year old.

Mushrooms though.. oh no. Not for sustenance, not even for recreation.

You like fiddleheads?

Propiconazole is one the best fungicides... I don’t know what brand names they sell it under.

I'm actually letting my beagle get a nose full of these...

He is always excited about anything that makes me happy... Hopefully he picks up on the game of find the Morrel.

Ive got asparagus coming up in one of my raised bed gardens. Ive never had it, might try it since its coming in with no effort on my part. Theres 2 other raised bed areas, I like the idea of not bending down so far and should be less likely for ground critters to get in, can easily wrap bare wire around box & hook the fence charger to it. The bad is that my wheel horse tiller is of little use to me now unless I till up half the side yard for sweet corn.

There's not much easy to find and identify here unless it's Chantrelles (probably spelled wrong...) but that's a hunting season thing over here... back in the day we used to get something like that but I lost the connections... On the chantrelles I got several pounds last year and the wife made some cream of mushroom stock out of it and froze it in a muffin pan thing, that stuff is good...

As for asparagus my brother has some going, in the proper form it isn't like chewing rope like some of the store bought stuff, I broke one off a couple weeks ago and had it raw and it was great, nice and tender...
