AOD Transmission fitment in 1985 ranger.

I have a 1985 Ranger that I am planning on swapping a 5.0 HO from a 1993 Mustang into, and was wondering about transmission fitments.

Will an AOD or any of its variants fit? Or are modifications necessary to install one, and if so, what modifications are needed?

It's a 2wd and I've installed an 8.8 rear axle from a 2011 Ranger in it if that affects anything.
