Still kinda stumped if it's a aod or aode I found a plug I isn't see before it has like a 7 wire plug that fits into the top of trans pan is it the aode?

simple, if it has 2 levers 1 for the shifter, the other for a TV cable its a AOD, if it has 1 lever and usually a black box behind that 1 lever(used for the shifter) its an AODE

AOD, (if its thats plugs, its the neutral safety switch and a A4LD is a direct plug for it)

e4od ok i need to do a little research on trannys... is this thing anygood? and or is it computer controlled? thanks a lot bruce!

It is computer controlled 100%. This tranny is used from a F150 all the way up to F350 Diesel and 460 depending on bellhousing and internals...Diesel bellhousing is differant than the big block and then there is a small block bell also. Its sort of a C6 with overdrive and its the biggest tranny of the Ford brand.

ok thats what i wanted to know damn it lol i have a c6 currently and i wanted one more gear trying to find a non computer controlled aod but i guess i got the wrong one.. thanks a lot bruce helped out a million!!

Needs a PCM to work. There are stand along controlers for them but big $$.

you will love the AOD if thats what you go with. Strength is still plenty good for a mild v8 and easy to tune (dont need a pressure gage, lokar cable pull it taunt and trans will work normal) I pulled mine alil bit on the tighter side and it feels like a mild shift kit now and higher rpm shifts. Been running the AOD for over a year, no breakage or slippage at all on 35's and 4.11 gears and 300hp.

damn i wish i had one haha, ill keep looking so i take it i should look for one that more less has a carb engine? i pulled the tranny out of a 91 stupid e4od ill keep looking for a aod thanks for all the input
