Does anyone know what stock cars had aod and carbs that I could get the brackets to use stock tv and throttle cables? Or anyone know of aftermarket brackets to fit stock tv and throttle cables to a holley carb?

no idea..i bought the lokar cable its really easy to hookup and adjust..just my 2cents

did you use lokar throttle and tv cables? how does the throttle mate the firewall and pedal? I want to use stock for now cause I have the cables and not any money.

Factory 2.8 throttle cable on my 84 Ranger with Edelbrock carb. Factory hole in firewall for factory 2.8 cable with grommet, i left it all stock didnt move or touch the cable. I made a simple bracket that bolts to the intake and it holds both cables, not cobbled together.

I've got a bracket from my 93 supercoupe that has the stock throttle and tv cable mounting but it would have to be modified to fit a carb, it would be nice to buy a old bracket from the salvage yard that fits but i'll probally end up moding my bracket

The bracket all you need?Let me look at the intake from a 351W I bought for the F100,I belive the brackets are still on it.I wont need them or the cast Intake. It will be tomm before I can check it out.

It would have to be one with an aod I think, but I think I should have it figured out, I took my supercoupe bracket and cut it up a little. The throttle hardly pulls far enough but it works.

The motor came from a F150 with a AOD with a Ford/Holley carb.

Ditto :icon_thumby: These were in production from the beginning of the AOD in the early 80's untill the last carbed F series trucks went out in about 1986-87.

I belive it was an 82 4X4.The engine is a Jasper long block with less than a 1000 miles on it.Gave $400 for it.It was complete from flex plate to fan, even the belts were still on it
I just checked, only has the throttle cable bracket.Had the kick down rod like my 100 does.If that will hep you let me know.

Musta had a C-5 or C-6 transmission.

The early 80's trucks and T-birds and a few others that used the AOD trans used a rod just like you would find on a C-4,5,6 trans.I had a 84 T-bird and it had the rod setup on it and the linkage at the T-body had a adjustable screw on it so the rod could be adjusted properly.
