AOD and a 2bbl carb

I'm getting ready to install a 302 with an AOD in my ranger. The engine is out of an 84 e150. It has a 2150 2bbl carb. The problem is there is not a provision on the carb for the TV cable, they make the converters for the edelbrock and holley 4bbl but nothing for the 2bbl, I thought about making the bracket but if the length is not precise then the tv wont be at the right pressure thru the range of motion even if the idle pressure setting is adjusted correctly. I've thought of a rebuilt 2bbl with the provision but they are priced higher then a 4bbl. So my question is has anyone run into this and what was your solution.
