Anyone Use A Camping Cot??

I have the first one. If you're over 5'10 forget it.
I'm 6 ft even and I can sleep on that one fine. It's kinda firm but I'm good with that being my sleeping bag is kinda thick. 0 degree and such

I got it at a yard sell for 20 bucks though. The matress had a small leak. A little flex tape and I have a nice cot now.

I have a Teton sleeping bag and backpack. No complaints about either. Less money then some of the high end stuff, but still good quality.

I spent to much time in the military"camping". If it comes with a wet bar and a wake up call I'm roughing it. Over

My military camping wasn't too bad. I did it in a submersible RV, nuclear powered with some cool weapons, hot showers, movie nights, 4 meals a day, oceanside locations...

+1 for hammocks. They are only really useful in the summer time, but if you stretch it out enough the sag isn't too bad.

For cold you want pad, in boy scouts self inflating air mattresses were the way to go. They only got like 2" thick so you could actually get them warm and keep them warm as opposed to a regular air mattress or a cot where it is basically open air with no insulation under you.

Foam works too but is bulkier.

If you've ever wanted to hang out under water with your poop, that's the way to do it!

I have a walmart one (Ozark Trail, paid about 20 bucks for it). not overly comfortable, but it gets you off the ground. I added a 20 dollar rolled foam mat on top of it and that makes a world of difference.

what I really need is a tent I can stand up straight in.

Makes getting out of bed easier.

I have a Coleman 6 man tent that is 6 ft tall in middle. The whole purpose was to be able to stand without being hunched over. It was pretty inexpensive before covid like 70 bucks. works great with 2 cots place on either side of door so you get out in the middle.

I have a Magellan 12 man tent cabin but it's way overkill unless your taking the whole family. In my case wife and 2 kids
