anyone replace rear frame piece

its not to bad. gotta grind rivets off. pretty much stright foreward. pull gask tank and swap it all out. can be done in about 8 hrs.

can be done in about 8 hrs.

If the vehicle in question is in somewhat decent shape.

I had over 40 hours in doing that to an F-150 last November. When I was done with that truck pile of parts that I purposely took off the truck weighed less than the bucket I shoveled all the rust droppings into.

If your truck is in reasonably good shape and not turning to Swiss Cheese it isn't that bad though. Bed bolts out, bed off, unclip the wiring and brake lines, then if you want to keep your existing axle unbolt the leafs, pop the rivets, and pull it out. The axle will balance and hold itself if you leave the driveshaft attached.

F-150's are a pain in the ass though... The SuperCrews anyway. A couple of the rivets are under the cab and you can't get to them easy. A Ranger on the other hand, I think spliced back just a little bit further, but I'm not positive.

I only just recently started looking into this. Would I be able to buy a new rear frame half? If so where? Or do I have to jack one off a junk yard truck? I'm tired of welding the frame. I'm running out of frame haha

junkyards are the best options. thats if you can find a good one.
