I bought the truck with this broken light bulb looking thing attached to the motor. I’ll attach some pictures so y’all know what I’m talking about. Want to know if this was the previous owners redneck engineering or something I should replace.

It’s the remnants of the knock sensor. The bottom metal piece is the adapter that screws into the block. You might find the other half of it attached to the wiring harness.

Thank you for the reply. Do you know where in the wiring harness, the female part of the connector is? I haven’t found any loose connectors in my wiring harness but I must have missed it.

It has to be close enough to reach that spot. I wonder if someone cut it off?

That’s my main fear, that and I can’t even seem to find a knock sensor for 2.8s online. Rock auto doesn’t even list them. Might just continue to ignore unless I can find one for sale.
