anyone know what this plug is for?

found this when i pulled off my gauge cluster and im just curious what it is there for? or if anyone knows where the wires lead? wondering if i can use them for anything or tap into them. im guessing it is for cruise control since my truck doesnt have it

Nope, its not for the Cruise Control.

My truck did not came with CC and I installed it, 100% sure its not for the CC.

Maybe its the connector for the passenger airbag deactivation switch. Which are the colors of the wires? That might help.

ill go check the colors in a couple hours i just woke up. but its an 88 so no passenger airbag. did they have push button 4x4 in 88? mine is just the floor shifter but on the tranmission there is a divit where a hole would be on the push buttons for the motor. and around it it says 4h 4l and 2h with arrows. so im guessing they did have the push button option then. but i dont think they would be on the dash around the gauge cluster?

In an 88? Try again.


Wire colors would be helpful. It may be for the audio system. Looks like the right shape for the plug for the factory amp. Not every vehicle had the amp, but all had the plug for it.
