Ok, before anyone starts badmouthing me for my credit history, yes its horrible, but at a $700 a month income there isn't much I can do to fix it right now except extremely slowly.

Does anyone know of a lending agency that can do low income, 90 day installment loans so I could get funds to purchase a cheap set of tires for my B2? Not looking to get outrageous tires, just a point a to point b all season tire.

Thanks,
Bill

ok first find out what a set installed would cost. I would imagine that it would be less than 400.

Then take a look at some what ifs...

what if I went a set of used tires? how long could a set with 80 percent tread life last you vs cost. you might be able to snag a decent set for less than 100 bucks.

what if you did some extra/ odd jobs (if you can find them) and use the proceeds for vehicle repairs only? could that make a difference between borrowing and paying out right?

with a 700 per month budget, I would not want to saddle *any* debt if I could help it. you will be able to afford at most $5 a month until the loan is paid off, and by that time the tires will be bald... Was it you that found two good tires for the b2 discarded?
If so, are they good enough to use and last a few years? that will help if that is the case, then you have two more to buy/ find.

If your finances can afford it, go to your bank or even better a credit union (not a pay day loan company!!) and ask to speak to a loan manager and tell him/her that you are wanting to build your credit up and think that a small personal loan of 100 dollars would be a good way to do so. they can then set up a payment system for you. you might end up paying 150 bucks for the 100 by the time it is done, but that will get your credit built back up. And don't miss or get a late payment! Also when you go into the bank make sure you are dressed in your best clothes and look nice. shave/ trim the beard/ nails, bikini wax whatever it takes to make a good impression. They will ask you what you are going to use the money for, and be honest and tell them you are fixing up your vehicle.

Hope this helps and Good luck!

The 2 tires I found are good, just need to get 3 more so I have all the same size tires as the spare tire is currently a 235/75-15, the 2 tires I found are 215/75-15.

A brand new set of tires is $460 for all season street tires.

The tires I keep finding for sale are less than 40% tread, meaning they're already beyond use IMO, especially considering the price people keep asking for their junk tires. The local tire shops don't have any used tires in the size of the 2 I already have. Might try the scrap yard when I get my bronco back so I can afford to drive around.

Banks absolutely WILL NOT loan me money not even a penny given my credit issues right now. Considering my income, and amount of debt and my 412 credit score, banks won't even bother with an application or wasting their time.

Guess I could keep 2 of the 235/75-15's that still have some tread left, and have the 2 215/75-15's mounted and drive around like that, can't do this POS bronco any more damage than the previous owner has already done. Seems these 15" size tires are becoming hard to find where I live.

A set of used tires, if you can find them the seller wants way too much for them, and never have ran across any with more than 40% tread.

No big deal, I got through a snow storm with the junk tires that's on the B2 now, Spring & Summer are on their way which is when I really start getting side jobs so combined with the money I'm trying to save, and the side jobs I'll look into getting a cheap set of junk tires as I forsee many more months of the bronco sitting in a shop for repairs. Too bad the body isn't fixing itself while its sitting LOL.

Any ideas on what brand tires I should look into that don't cost a fortune. The 2 tires I found are Marshall Tires which I found online but are about $95 a tire, don't need expensive ones, just need tires I can trust for more than just a drive across town LOL.

I've got a trailer about full of scrap metal to head over the hill in the next month or so, so that will give me a few bucks. I also am looking into something possibly just tires from private party, that I could have the local high school mount and balance for me to save the outrageous price the tire shops charge. The local high school auto shop has become a great friend to me lately with all the mechanical work I've had to have done. So far I've saved about $2,000 in labor alone which would have sent the b2 to the crusher for sure.

IMO trade the truck or BII for a car that will actually get decent milage (20+) The BII wont get super wonderful milage when it decides to behave and is only going to eat money when it doesn't behave.

I'd take it straight to the crusher if I was to get rid of it. Its in bad shape body wise I would lose quite a bit of money trying to sell it. It will get 20+mpg but when I work 4 miles from home the type of vehicle isn't really going to matter. In the summer I ride my bicycle to work quite often unless I know I need to run other errands where I need to carry stuff after work.

So far aside from the $975 purchase price, $114 for title/registration, and $80 in parts, I haven't had to put too much into it, just the frustration of it being in the shop for the past month and a half with stripped flywheel bolts, then a failed clutch master cylinder. I was saving quite a bit of money actually driving the bronco 2 around instead of my full size truck. Wish the weather would straighten out so I could get my bicycle back out again.

Possibly later on this year I'll be starting a small engine repair course and get an economical small engine shop going on the side. Where I live people don't want to pay much for services, but they sure expect a fortune for the junk they try to sell on craigslist LOL.

Already working on another side project which will get me about $100 when I get it completed later this week. I'm also working on a Craigslist ad to maybe get a couple more tires for cheap as well.
