These tires came on my Ranger when I bought it (235/75 R15).

They have good tread and aren't dry at all but my right front tire shakes like crazy between 60 and 65. It's bad enough that I'm sure people driving next to me can see it.

I need to replace it but haven't been able to locate this brand locally. I did find some online from Hercules Tire in Canada but they are pricey there.

Does anyone know anything about them?

Just take it to have the wheel balanced

Rotate the tire to a different spot (maybe the rear) and see if the problem follows the tire. If yes, then you have a different issue (brake rotor maybe)

.

When I bought the truck, the shake was coming from the left front (I could feel it in the steering wheel). I rotated the tires, crossing the fronts to the rear, and the shake came from the rear (I could feel it in the seat).
Since I don't have an alignment rack or a tire balancer at home, I took it to get the toe set after replacing the drag link. I asked the guy to check the balance while he was at it. He rotated the tires again. The shake moved back to the front. The tech said the tire was out of round but I have not verified that for myself.
I have only had the truck since June and have put less that 2000 miles on it. Other than the things I have repaired myself, I have no idea what the history is on this truck. I did run across a couple interesting repair attempts in the process. (Like the disabled check engine light. I should have noticed that during bulb check)

can I see the tread on the tire? they look familiar

Did the truck sit for a while with a flat or under inflated tire?

.

Not since I've owned it. I adjusted the tire pressure soon after buying the truck and haven't needed to add air since.
They are still at about 35 PSI so they aren't leaking now. Who knows if one tire had a leak that the previous owner repaired?
I do wonder if the tire may have some Fix A Flat or something in it since the shake tends to vary. I was told no buy the tech who balanced the tire. I wish I had been there when he did it to see if he even verified the balance after pounding the weights on. (I always did when I turned wrenches, but knew others who didn't)

I've seen those, they are not the most common tires available, as common as my Roughnecks are.

Check on the inside of the tire, there should be company names on opposite sides.

Nice tread pattern though.

i've had those tires and in the same size, Master Craft i believe. or something like that. ok tires at best. now i have much better tires for the snow and ice here in the winter.
as for the shaking, i'd check to see if the rim is bent. they should have picked up on that when it was rebalanced and rotated, but maybe not.
only other thing that comes to mind is if the steel cords are coming apart under the tread. that could be really bad when driving at freeway speeds. keep it on the rear so your steering wheels would be ok or rotate it to the spare position.
good luck with that.

I need to replace it. The only reason I am looking for this brand is because I don't want a mismatched set. I don't want to buy a full set because I don't want to replace 3 good tires. I am just trying to locate this brand so I can keep a matched set.
When I replace the whole set, I want a bigger size but the 3.0 really can't even handle these with the 3.73 gears. Therefore I want to wait till I can get some 4.56 gears before I replace the whole set.
In the mean time, I need to replace the one bad tire I have.

this is expert advice

your tire is fine your wheel is bent- seperated tires shake from 0-30/35 mph then calm down as speed increases(never going away totally but quite a bit) what size is your spare- and who balanced the wheel/tire in question? tires get out of round so they hop when bad due to egg shape wheels do the side to side action as they have usally hit something while being fastened to truck-also BLACKWALL TIRES never killed anybody if it turns out to be tire you can find a very close tread and have them flipped black out-put your spare on and take wheel/tire combo to tire shop-ask if they would put tire/wheel on SPIN balancer-bubble balancer is no good for this - to check trueness of wheel-this will tell the tale! asst mgr biggest tire store in town -FIRESTONE :headbang:
