A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
Or something similar? Are they worth a shit?

Im planning on taking a fishing trip up north this summer. Im taking the jeep and atleast two of the spots i wanna go are only accesable from wide mixed use/jeep type "routes" (better shape then a trail, but not quite a dirt road either)

Obviously i wouldnt expect them to work if i did something stupid, but just for a "oh shit im hung up" type moment?

I highly doubt ill even have an issue, but i like being somewhat prepared

I haven’t used them. Can’t even decide if I want any. Those and the long solid traction boards look good in advertisements. I don’t know too many people who have actually used them. I would think they’re best suited to sand and light mud.

Well sand is what im mostly worried about. Mainly if i park and need to get going again. Ive been down a few on the quads and from what ive seen i could probably get my ranger down them with very little issue but...better safe then sorry.

I agree about better safe than sorry. Low air pressure is your friend in sand. 10-14psi. Increase that contact patch. Get a good compressor to air up again when you hit pavement.

The pictures won’t load for some reason. But based on the conversation, I think I get what they are.

I don’t have any traction boards myself yet but with the people I follow on youtube, they love them.

Some are better than others but at the price of those compared to the top tier model, they might be worth a try for someone that doesn’t plan to be in the position to potentially need them on a regular basis. Top tier ones are about twice that price.

What i liked about these is they are hinged so they can be folded for storage. Plus they kinda conform to the terrain instead of being a glorified 2x12
