anyone else mad about "cash for clunkers"?

what saddens me is that 98% of us are being affected by change blindness. It's not about democrat or republican anymore. Even if he doent push some of the things through he wants to he has laid ground work for the next one to do it. If you don't like how things are going vote every one out from bottom to top, give them one term to change it for the better and if they arent doing what "we the people" want, vote them out all the way up. But, i've got a shot gun a rifle and a 4x4 and if they get too out of hand me and my family will dissapear into the swamps.

I can't wait for the healthcare "reform" to adopt the same principles. If you die in a car wreck, with plenty of donatable organs. They aren't going to give them to anyone else to make their life longer. Same as they won't part out the perfectly running cars.

i was at the ford dealer....some guy gave them his 1997 ford ranger 2wd 3.0l 5 spd for 3500...it was in immaculate condition...it had 123,000 on it and IT RAN LIKE IT WAS BRAND NEW....i teared from the site

I'm only mad I can't afford a new car to take advantage of it... It does make me sad that some historic vehicles will undoubtedly be crushed due to it (think 40/60/80 series Landcruiser, Bronco, FSJ)... Crushing a RBV doesn't bother me too much because there are too many to shake a stick at in the junkyards... It's the vehicles that were semi-rare that are going to be crushed because the only thing the owner knows about what he has is that it gets crappy gas mileage and he's hated it since his parents gave it to him when he graduated because he wanted a Civic like all his friends got...

Wait tell you see some of what they are proposing for the older people. Kind of prorated, they don't have long to live so why spend good money on them!
Dave - happen to be close to that age so keeping track

The entire bill is just bullshit. I love our governments solution to everything, spend more money and go into more debt.

Oh and this should be in the tailgate.

"OUR" government? I take it you voted for this. I know I didn't and I refuse to have any part of it. I'm considering not paying anymore taxes. Then I'll be qualified to work at the whitehouse.

We need to go to Washington and remove these f^*<wit ninny fools...

Just like the homebuyer tax credit last year. I claimed mine... to a tune of $7500... This year they get $8000. But... The people who get the $8000 get it for nothing, unlucky me as to PAY IT BACK over the next 15 years! WTF!

Well, not everyone gets 8K. It's 10% of the purchase price up to $8,000. First time buyers, but there may be a span where someone could re-qualify for it. They also have another program that you can get a percentage of the interest paid back on your taxes (MCC). I just bought a house in May this year, got a really good deal on it and the mortgage interest rate. I get money back and 25% of interest paid every year. Now's a good time to buy if you have good credit scores.

Unless you took it one step farther than the whiny hollywood types and actually moved out of the country when your guy didn't get in, it is your govt too. Not everybody gets their way all the time, most people figure that by kindergarden.

Personally I don't really care for how they are going about doing things, but I do hope it it works out in the end. I am not anti-democrat enough to hope they actually fail... because if they do, we all do.

Well unfortunalty for me, I bought one last year when prices were higher and there were not as many rebates. I wish I didn't have to take the tax credit, but it paid off all the stuff I had to do to the house because of it being a foreclosure.

Now I can buy the two story house in my neighborhood for the same price as I paid for my Ranch last year... That's enough to piss ya off.

I drive a 1991 Toyota mr2. It probably runs and drives better than anything new, but if obama wants me to drive a new car, the bastard can buy me one. if i could afford a new car I would be driving a new car. He needs to stop worrying about junk cars and start worrying about freakin jobs. Ive lost 3 jobs in the past 8 months due to lay offs. what hes doing truly is an obama-nation. thank God i didnt vote for him

well i agree with about everything said
the program sucks but could be rewritten to work if they let the trade-ins apply for used vehicles too, and they didn't destroy the trade-ins and it only applied for U.S built vehicles. Its a waste of perfectly good used vehicles. And now that I'm shopping a "new" used car i am hoping that i can find a vehicle cheap enough for me, prices haven't gone up to bad but they are starting to creep up already atleasat where i live.

The dealership dad works at didn't even want to particpate, but they where told if they didn't they would lose their license. So far they have been forced to kill two explorers a nice 1986? F150 4x4 its a really nice straight truck and a 1999? F150 4x4 that is also a very nice straight truck  . and they had no choice they either had to kill them or go out of business which i think is comlete B.S

its on hold again to get more money. but heres what makes me the sadest law ever. the killing of good running cars and truck being ford, dodge or chevy and i even have pity on the few imports traded in. this is a sad sad thing to do to any working vehicle.
