i been blessed to when it comes to receiving cars and trucks i've learned if i wait long enough it will come to me for free. Ok for starters, my truck, i had bought a '90 2.9 2wd back in 2003 or something, it had really bad valve problems so me and my friend tore it apart and it sat awhile and i lost interist because i bought a Acura and started suping it up. a couple yrs later my buddy buys a '86 2.3 4x4 that needed alot of work and since he helped my build my acura he wanted my to help build his truck well its along a long story. but after the truck was drivable he statred letting me barrow it all the time i asked how much he'd sell it for and he said i could have it if i gave him my broken 2.9 2wd because he knew he could make money off it. BONUS :yahoo: FREE TRUCK. seveal years later i'm at home and i see my neibor open his garge to see a ass end of a flat black 1 gen ranger sitting in his garge so i go over to ask about it he said the bottom end is gone and he just hasn't gottin around to get it fixed. so several weeks past and i see him in his garage a again and i'm needing a taigate so i ask how much for his, he said if i could push i can have the whole thing for free he needed the space so thats were my bed, brush guard, wheels came from pluse i took the hood, all headlights, brake lights etc. so i had extra. next this girl at work told me her husband had a '95 neon in there barn that needed a brake line and it been sitting for a while and just want to get rid of it. so i gladly took it off there hands i put a new battery in it and it started right up. next my mom just up and gave me her NON-running '87 2.9 4x4 STX that she had for sale and i've been begging for for a while. come to find out that its beleved to be a "highrider". now my trucks bottom end is going out and a buddy from work has a 2.3 just sittin around that ran good but the timing belt pully broke and he just did a motor swap insted of fixing it so he's giving me the motor so i can fix mine. so thats my story just woundering if anyone has had good luck too, thanks for reading and i appoligize for the legth and any bad grammer that i've been known for.

Good luck? Well I like the whole idea of luck as you pose it - I would argue what you have is not luck at all but patience, good timing and the ability to ask the right question at the right time . . . In general, most people get so anxious to built their own "world-beater" truck they spend too much money and get frustrated; some even quit.

You've got a lot a spare parts - don't fall in love with the left overs and make your neighbors hate you if you don't have a remote place. Spare parts will keep your truck running long after the average driver has given up on his ride.

The thing you seem to have going for you is a good eye and the willingness to work with what you have at hand. It makes for a happy trucker who has something to drive.

Post some pictures.
