I use POR-15 pretty much on a daily basis at my day Job as well as at my shop. Its great stuff as long as the prep work is done right... Now the correct way to prep depends on how bad the rust already is. If its light surface rust wire brush the loose rust and paint away, the rest of the paint (within an inch from the rust) scuff it up with some 80g, POR-15 tends to only stick to rough surfaces. Also its not completely needed but using the metal ready does help it last longer. Clean the inside of the door and apply the POR inside as well to help seal it up, then use multiple light coats under the exterior letting it tack up between coats (times varys alot depending on temp and humidity). Apply about 3 coats just to the rusted area as much as possible but scuffing the paint with 80 helps it bite in. after the final coats sets up to dry/tack state (barely leaves a finger print) put a primer on it. Scuff the primer and do ur filler work over the primer (normally not the right way but with POR it works better, trust me) Also, use latex gloves and keep some solvent near u while painting... POR on anything u don't want is bad including skin, well especially skin lol. Any more questions feel free to ask.
