2005 reg Ranger, COIL SPRINGS 2wd. According to the catalogs, front shocks are almost identical. Cross pin at the bottom, stem at the top, extended length about 1/10" longer for the CV ones. CV police/heavy duty shocks are cheap and plentiful. Has anybody tried them? I have some fairly heavy 245/70-16 wheels on my daily driver Ranger and would like them to spend more time on the pavement when I hit bumps.

My 100lb 16.5 hummer wheel with 37" tires doesn't need hd shocks.

More likely you just need new shocks cause your old ones are worn out and not articulating like they used to.
