Anybody know why the camber looks so different?

Just a little thing I noticed yesterday and confirmed today with some pics. I haven't gotten around to completing my alignment yet, but noticed how the camber looks different on different surfaces and I never saw this difference before. When on the gravel/asphalt the camber is straight to slightly negative. When I went around the corner to the gas station it looked WAY positive on good flat asphalt. Then I went across the street to another parking lot and it was closer to straight. Why would it fluctuate so much on flat ground? Negative, positive then back. Never seen it do that.:icon_confused:

If the alignment is out it can cause that. On a hard surface like concrete or asphalt the tires can't 'slip' at all. On the gravel they will slip a bit letting the suspension settle.

Is your toe alignment correct?

Regardless, it may be different if you're looking at it just after you've made a sharp turn (say like when you pull into a parking space).
It shouldn't change much if you look at it as you travel in a straight line though. If it does, I'd check toe.

Hopefully I can finish the alignment tomorrow morning. Probably only take a couple hours if I can get my ass outa bed early enough.

as soon as you start driving the suspension settles. the only way i could see it changing on the gravel is the spring rate being so strong that the camber actually goes positive bc it allows the tires to sit as if it was on a lift or something. but assuming it is stock. it should be changing

even if the toe alignment is out i should affect the camber like that having it change back and fourth... you might want to shake down your front end and make sure all the suspension is tight. sounds like something is possibly loose for it to be shifting around like that. bad ball joint or wheel bearing but you would know if it was a bad wheel bearing. it would be pretty noisy during turns

If out are towed in the two tires will cause the suspension to "Climb"
the two sides together
