I’m having a hell of a time with engines lately. And browsing the internet. I found a company called mabbco motors. There out of Tyler Texas. Seen a few videos on YouTube about there engines.
I’m just looking to get a short block. Anyone have any experience with them? Or know where I can get a rebuilt 302/351w short block for under 1 grand lol.

Are these new or reman engines? A grand for a reman shortblock seems insane to me. New not so much.

Here in new York. The price to get an engine rebuilt is pretty high. And 3 of the blocks I have. All need new cranks. And to be bored .30 over.

crank kit. 200. Pistons. 100. Cam. 250. Timing set 25. Piston rings. 40. Gasket kit. 75. Machine work. 600. Balancing. 275
It adds up quick. That’s why I was looking at these short blocks.

Quick google search of reviews for the company turned up quite a few complaints. I find thats the case with alot of engine companies though so take that with a grain of salt. Alot of complaints like these are likely the result of the installer and not the company themselves.

Seems to be alot of people not recieving their engine and no communication after the sale type issues on this particular site...

I have a low mile "Gopher" reman 302... with the rare two piece crank. No carbon on the pistons, I can still easily read the writing on them.

"reman" engines kinda give me the willies, it seems most cut every corner they can...

I reached out to a few guys that have used them personally. Worst thing anyone said was the main caps were over torqued by 15 ftlbs.

otherwise they did nice machine work. And the parts selection was decent.

so I rolled the dice and purchased a roller 351w block.

Let us know how everything works out.

Will do. They estimate 6-8 weeks since there behind on orders.
