My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
October is my renewal month. Opened up my bill or whatever yesterday and was initially greeted with "Hey buddy, thanks for being a customer for 8 years!" Then I got kicked in the nuts with a SIX THOUSAND DOLLAR BILL for 2026 😶🤬🙄

Quite literally doubled. They want 4k for just the Bronco now..

I DID get a speeding ticket early summer of last year, but I already experienced THAT rate increase.. over 10% for that one..

Needless to say.. I'm going down to my local insurance agent ASAP to shop for a better rate. Hanover can suck it.

I remember a thread from awhile back moaning about house insurance increases.. anyone else get screwed on their auto policy's?

Insurance rates have been ticking up in the last year…

That’s still a heck of a jump in price though. Loyalty means absolutely nothing to insurance companies so every time I feel like I’m getting screwed, I go through the hassle of looking for a better deal. Finally went with a local independent insurance broker that takes care of all that for me.

Not yet on either home or auto insurance. I've been waiting for that shoe to drop. Now property taxes, we got bent over a barrel by both the township and the county.

The price you quoted before the rate increase was insane to begin with, nevermind the amount of increase. I would have to look at the numbers but I don't think my insurance amounts to half of that, even when adding home and full coverage auto policies together.

IIRC I am paying about $1000/year for auto (liability on 7 and full coverage on 1) and $1600 for homeowners. Auto has not changed much over the past few years. Homeowners is up and down, I have to switch companies every few years when their shareholders decide they need me to pay their dividend.

I've always gone through a local agent, definitely makes the process much easier.

Man.. I thought it was pretty high to begin with but I was still thinking somewhat reasonable considering the ticket. Now it's undeniably outrageous..

I could remove the ranger from my policy and save 1200.. removing glass coverage would be another 800.. I had no idea I was paying that much for glass.. just to never use it. I could replace 2 windshields a year paying out of pocket and still be under 800 bucks lol. Also forgot I had my ex fiance as a driver on my policy.. removing her might drop it down a little more..

Those are some cheap policies.. lucky.

The 6k they just told me it was gonna cost me next year is literally more than I paid as a teenager who totaled a vehicle, bought a red turbo car as a replacement, and then got a ticket for 20 over the limit in said red turbo car.

What the actual F.. seriously baffled.

yeah....8-12 k depending on what we have going on ...

i have 5 grown kids and we pool the vehicles.with 4 of them and Michigan is the no fault state or....like the government...just legalized theft.

ranger, b2, 350 z, 24 pb150 long, edge traverse....25 f150 pb short...24 Pacifica ...and some bikes. 4 full coverage....the rest are shit out of luck.

Yep. The company ID been with for years kept going up. In April they were going to hit me for like $1600, comp only on three 15+ year old vehicles for 6 months. Switching got it to less than $500. About the same for renewal next month.

Not sure what it will actually end up being because vehicles and coverage will be changing. Inheriting dad 21 F-150 with about 18k and going to keep full coverage for at least as long as the warranty is still valid. So I'll be adding that, but also dropping the F-250. Hoping that it stays in the $600 range, but we'll see
