I got to ride in a Fairmont Speeder today. You know, one of those little yellow box-like cars that the maintenance people use'ta go putt-putting down the tracks in.:yahoo:
I used to watch them zipping up and down the tracks between trains when I was a kid and thought it was so cool. In reality, If I had to ride in one for very long, it would give me bad case of 'roids.

Worked with a bunch of buffs. one could tell from a mile away what the engine was, turbo'd or SC'd. Now adays, all I see on the tracks are pick-ups converted to run the rails, lot more practical.

I dig the RR stuff, I am actually building 2 layouts of course downsized. One is in N scale in my office and the other is G scale outdoors. But I am a big fan of the old steamers most of all and the very first diesel locos.
