Little confusion here. You said for a 97, right? You wrote 'Most companies only go to '98'. I see them for your year on Ebay. You can Google 97 Brush guard / Grill guard and see what comes up. There are a few companies that have older years that will work with slight modes for our year Ranger. I have a 99 and I know I can mount one easy with some slight mods to the bumper mount plates on the grill guards. Good luck and if you can't do the mods you can take it to a shop and they can mount it for you.

^x2 with the confussion. If your truck is a 97, and companies have the grill guard ti 98...sound like you truck fits right in
